RELEASE REF: PRO/2006/007
Proseal, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of tray sealing equipment, has launched a range of machines to meet the growing demand for pre-packed product in the fish and seafood industry.
While packing fish into trays is not new, Proseal says leading retailers are increasingly demanding top sealed trays rather than the more traditional overwrap film solution that has been used in the past.
"Presentation is becoming a key factor in fresh fish packaging," explains Proseal director Rob Hargreaves.
"A heat sealed tray looks better, gives greater product protection and preservation and provides added reassurance to the consumer in terms of product quality."
The new Proseal range offers fish processors a choice of equipment to meet different requirements - from the PR30 semi-automatic machine capable of sealing 30 trays per minute and the fully automatic F40 and F45, which accept randomly spaced trays from any conveyor, to the state-of-the-art AP60 that can handle up to 160 packs per minute as part of an integrated turnkey packaging line.
Computer controlled operation, with easy-to-follow menus, allows automatic set up for product changeovers, while tool changes can be effected in around two minutes, therefore minimising downtime and maximising throughput.
All machines can handle a variety of pack materials including CPET, polypropylene, PVC, styrene, board and smooth walled foil. Options include gas flushing, inboard trimming and film coding or printing.
All machines have been designed to maximise available space in the factory and are manufactured to food industry approved standards with the housing of electrical components above the sealing area to enable fast and easy cleaning.
Proseal's reputation for the long-term reliability of its equipment is backed by its 24 hour, seven day service cover.
"Our machines offer fish processors and packers a cost-effective entry to top sealed trays, which will enable them to meet the future requirements of retailers and consumers and help to maximise their sales," says Rob Hargreaves.
"The choice of equipment also means we can tailor a solution to meet a customer's precise needs."
